My mom (who is a hairstylist) could’ve been an interior designer. When I was growing up I would go to school with my room a mess and come back & it looked like a team of people had transcended on the place making it look it came out of a magazine. I always had a beautiful space to call my own even if I shared with my sis. So I think I inherited that love of transformation from her & I wanted to do that for my girl.

After the twins came into the fam it was pretty clear that my oldest needed her own space to retreat to, play in and call her own. Her room is HUGE. But it was a white box that had been her toddler room full of barely baby things. She needed a new room fit for a growing kid.

So she and I discussed what she wanted it to look like and she of course came calling back with PINK! So we I trolled through a couple dozen wallpapers only to land on this beauty from Hygge & West. That served as the inspiration for the entire room. The wallpaper, was probably one of the most expensive things we did in her room but we kept it to a single wall behind the bed and it really makes an  impact. A lot of items we used to accessorize were from Pottery Barn Kids & Target.

I wanted things she could really live with that we could update over time and if a lamp fell on the ground and broke (and it did) it was $24.99 so who cares!

My favorite thing is her drapes. Made by an amazing talent in Nashville, My Swallows Nest,  out of DROP CLOTH! Yes, like drop cloth from Home Depot. They look just like linen and completely block out the light when it’s bed time!

We created a wonderful little retreat that you can see she LOVES and truly lives in everyday.

It was so fun, so easy and I have no doubt with a little inspiration you can too!

Let’s stay connected! I have a little something special for you right HERE!
