When we bought this 1996 southern charmer five years ago, I always knew I was going to have to tackle the bathrooms at some point. I didn’t know I would actually be able to skate by with five years though before having to touch them!

But it was a good thing that I waited, because I ended up having two more kids and our needs changed very quickly! So when we started renovating the girls Jack and Jill bathroom this year, I knew exactly what I needed to do. I needed a space for my two little girls who will be sharing this space to grow into two big girls. Girly enough they would feel at home but classic and timeless enough that I wouldn’t have to renovate again in another few years ! And I was so tired of that dingy tile that I could not wait to get started!

After a great deal of planning, and getting multiple bids and rethinking tile (a few times) I chose a basic glass and white subway tile for the bath and a white and matte black 1 inch hex for the floor ….

We were FINALLY off to the races!!!

I ended up choosing the Delta Cassidy series, in Champagne bronze for all of my fixtures. I liked the vintage charm of the widespread faucets and the oversize showerhead for my girls bathroom. I also love the classic white hex tile because I know that never goes out of style and it was a great and inexpensive way to showcase the giant black heart I had my heart set on on the for middle of floor. The bathtub wall tile is a glass tile I sourced from The Tile Shop and a 4×12 ceramic subway tile in white from Mission Stone + Tile here in Nashville.

For the paint color I ended up going with a color called calamine, from Farrow + Ball (matched at Sherwin Williams) that my friend Lori had actually chosen for my closet a few years back. My daughters loved the color and I figured why fix what’s not broken! I had the doors removed and sprayed and then I painted the base cabinetry myself (which you can see over on my Insta highlights)! All of the hardware on the cabinetry is from Home Depot, and it’s the same shade of champagne bronze.

I chose to use tongue and groove shiplap in a vertical pattern to create a more traditional look, I picked up the brass mirrors from target. The lights are from Shades of light and Anthropologie.

Our countertops are color quartz called Shadowstom, which are a beautiful and classic white and grey that looks like a marble but is really durable for the kids.

Our shower curtain and all of the hardware and accessories are affordable, practical and most importantly available at target !

I really feel like this classic and fun bathroom my daughters are going to be able to enjoy getting ready and growing up in for many years to come, and I couldn’t love that black tile heart any more than I do! If you have a spark for something, I say go for it! Because if you LOVE it today, you are probably going to love it for many years to come.

XO,

Brandon
